LARRY HOPKINS IS DISHONEST!!
LARRY HOPKINS SELLS JOURNEYMAN CERTIFICATES TO CONVICTED FELONS WITHOUT HAVING THEM DO THE 6000 APPRENTICESHIP!!
This is a complaint about Larry Hopkins and Local 12 in California and Las Vegas.
This complaint was brought to the attention of Larry Hopkins but Mr. Hopkins was paid off so he is concealing the complaint.
Larry Hopkins is granting Heavy Equipment operators appenticeship certificates when they NEVER did the 6000 hour apprenticeship anywhere.
Specifically, there is a man who was in prison was the past 6 years. He lost all his apprenticeship which he never legally did in the first place in any state. However, This man paid off Larry Hopkins to grant him an illegal apprenticeship certificate, and now the man is illegally working as a Journeyman in the Las Vegas, NV area as a heavy equipment operator earning $43 per hour.
When I questioned Larry Hopkins about the false apprenticeship certificate, Larry answered me with the below email confirming that the Journeyman has NEVER attended an apprenticeship anywhere!! However, Larry Hopkins granted him a Journeyman license and he is dispatched out through the Las Vegas Local 12 on a daily basis!!

Dear ****,
I received correspondence from Local 12, that you
were alleging that a member by the name of ***** ********* had falsified
hours reports during his participation in Local 12’s apprenticeship
program. Mr. ********* has never participated in the
Operating Engineers local 12 apprenticeship program, according to our
records and therefore would not be required to submit work hours as
proof of work experience.
In regards to your allegation of how Mr. *********obtained his OSHA safety card, I am not aware of where he may have
received his OSHA training, however I can assure you that if he received
his training through the Operating Engineers Training
Trust, it would be impossible for someone else to complete his training
for him, as we only conduct live training classes and verify
identification of each member who participates in our training classes.
Based on the fact’s stated above the Operating
Engineers Training Trust has no authority to conduct any further
investigation, as the allegations appear to be without merit and outside
of the scope of apprentice/journeyperson training.
Therefore, no further action will be taken by the Operating Engineers
Training Trust, in regards to your complaint.
